Recruiting Background/What you enjoy about recruiting?
I started my career in University Admissions and then moved into corporate recruiting, where I have been for over 5 years. I love being able to help match candidates to positions that perfectly align with their knowledge, skills and abilities. The impact of recruitment efforts provide very tangible results, in that we get to see when new hires onboard or see new teams being built. This is always exciting and really showcases the fruits of our labor.

Greatest (or most recent) professional success:
My greatest professional success is passing the SHRM-CP certification.

Unique talents/interests:
I enjoy playing the piano, baking, and golfing in my free time!

Recruiting Background/What you enjoy about recruiting?
After graduating, I spent five years recruiting for construction and skilled trades-based positions, then moved into working as a Senior Talent Acquisition Manager with a large financial institution. I was great at the IT/Operations part of things and moved into an HRIS Analyst position. My last role made me realize that the interactions and human components involved with recruiting were what I enjoyed the most. Spreadsheets and HRIS systems are predictable, but a candidate interaction always has the potential for something unexpected, which makes it exciting.

Greatest (or most recent) professional success:
Improving the candidate experience has always been important to me, and in my last role that meant eliminating a lot of the manual parts of the onboarding process in favor of building out a system that was able to handle our average candidate flow plus an additional 2,000 new employees that came on board because of a merger. I was able to learn MS Power Bi and Power Automate, integrate it into our onboarding and background checking process, and successfully teach a team of two hundred talent acquisition employees how to utilize what I had built. I never had a problem thinking big, but I have always had difficulty figuring out the components that made a large idea come to life. Being able to do this, figure out some complex components, put them all together, integrate it with our HRIS,  and teach it to a large group of people all while getting ready to move into a more front facing position was something I am not sure I could have done a few years ago.

Unique talents/interests:
I am a pretty good sculptor and work with metals mostly.  I got an MFA and have done a lot of large-scale installations and commissioned artworks. I use that to finance my love of travelling. I have managed to spend the night in every state and have been to every single continent (except Antarctica but I don’t want to go there either).
